Over the last seven years, venture investments in the sector have increased from less than 1 percent of total venture investments to nearly 10 percent. Clean-tech investing in the U.S. in 2006 reached $2.7 billion across a range of sectors, including renewable and distributed energy, advanced materials, transportation, and water purification and management.
